Verizon's Google Pixel 2 is already $100 off at Best Buy if you use monthly installments

As you may know, Google only made the and official yesterday. Yet here we are 24 hours later bringing you the first ever deal on the company's new smartphone duo. Best Buy already lets you save up to $100 when you purchase a Pixel 2, but there are some noteworthy caveats. First off, only the Pixel 2 is $100 off. The Pixel 2 XL is discounted too, but just by a mere $25. Next up, you need to know that these are Verizon Pixels we're talking about, and to take advantage of the price reduction you're going to have to pay for them using the carrier's installment plan. If you're okay with all of that, then your monthly installments for the Pixel 2 will be $22.91 (for the 64GB version) or $27.08 (for the 128GB model). Over the course of two years, you'll pay a grand total of $549.84 or $649.92, respectively in each case, a few cents over $100 less than normal. If you're interested in the Pixel 2 XL, the installments will be $34.36 per month (64GB) or $38.53 per month (128GB). In total that means either $824.64 or $924.72, depending on which model you pick. Just a hair over $25 in savings, as mentioned. You still get the free if you go this route. The Pixel 2 should ship by October 19, while the Pixel 2 XL doesn't even have a release date to speak of yet. So be prepared to play the waiting game. | |

Microsoft Edge Preview lands on iOS and Android

Microsoft Edge Preview lands on iOS and Android

Microsoft will soon bring its Edge browser to Android and iOS smartphones. The software giant has started a beta testing program for Windows Insiders to give Egde mobile a try. Microsoft Edge on iOS and Android will be able to push pages to and from the PC so you can continue your browsing on multiple devices. Edge will also sync bookmarks, history and reading lists brings its Reading View to mobile with it you can eliminate the links, ads and design clutter from an article and focus only on the text. Sadly Microsoft won't allow you to sync tabs (for now at least) like you can with Google Chrome. Microsoft Edge has a few advantages on Windows 10 PCs over Chrome, Firefox and the likes. It's cleaner, it works fast with HTML5 content and it's generally better for your laptop's battery life compared to its peers. It's also catching up in terms of browser plug-ins. Not least of all Edge works best with Windows Precision drivers for your laptop's trackpad bringing the smoothest multitouch zoom and gestures on Windows 10. If you want to test Microsoft Edge on your smartphone all you need to do is join the Windows Insider program for free source link below. |

The new Pixel 2 phones support USB-PD up to 27W

If youre picky about your USB accessories (like me), you may check if its approved by Google software engineer Besnon Leung. He has some good news about the new and they support up to 27W charging! For that you will need to buy a compatible USB Power Delivery charger. The phones ship with an 18W charger (same as the original Pixels) that promises 7 hours of mixed usage with just 15 minutes of charge. Imaging how much more youll get out of a 27W charger! If you get the , it comes with a 45W charger that is compatible (at a lower power level, of course). Google is selling this charger separately for , though you can check Leungs list for other appropriate chargers (off brand chargers could damage your device... your $650/800 device!). PS. Apparently since v8.0 Oreo, Android is using the Type-C Port Manager of the Linux kernel. It seems that this feature will support Alternate Mode, which will be great for docks (i.e. providing video out while charging).

You may have heard that Apple's first LTE-enabled Apple Watch with unsecured Wi-Fi networks, which prevented the smartwatch from using its LTE connection. When out of known Wi-Fi coverage the Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE would latch onto public networks that require a browser sign-in to work. Given that the watch lacks a browser it would connect to the network but not have internet. Now Apple has fixed the issue in its latest watchOS update watchOS 4.0.1. All you need to do in order to get the fix is download on your iPhone and then update the Apple Watch Series 3. It's been an unusually bumpy introduction for the cellular Apple Watch. Outside of the aforementioned issues users in the UK have reported the eSIM in the new Apple Watch. Here's hoping it's smooth sailing from here on out.
