International Galaxy S8 and S8+ models are finally receiving the November security update


The internationally sold versions of and are now finally in the process of receiving the November security update. As usual, this includes patches from Google, as well as Samsung-specific fixes. You get 61 general Android vulnerabilities fixed, alongside six exploits found only in Samsung's software. Additionally, the widespread KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability is patched too. The Korean company also threw in some Bluetooth-related bug fixes, which means the protocol should be more stable. The updates are now rolling out to devices purchased unlocked in the Netherlands, and should spread to other markets in the next few days. You're looking at a 545MB download, and once you install the new release your Galaxy S8 will be on build G950FXXU1AQK7. For the S8+, it's G955FXXXU1AQK7. Not bad for... wait, 190? Okay, okay, the Wileyfox Pro is targeted at businesses and the key selling point seems to be support until mid-2020. Note that this is for the software only, there doesnt seem to be any extended warranty offered by Wileyfox. Still, most Android makers obsolete their phones as if it was a competitive sport so extended software updates may be desirable to business owners looking to buy company phones. Apple tops UK smartphone market in Q3, Samsung close second


According to market research firm Counterpoint, Apple is the top smartphone player in the UK. The stats shared by the firm reveal the Cupertino based company had a market share of 34.4% in the country in Q3. Samsung followed closely with a 34% slice, while Chinese manufacturer Huawei came in third with 13% of the market. Alcatel and Motorola rounded up the top five with 4% and 3% shares, respectively. Like we see in the US market, Apple & Samsung together control more than two thirds of the UK smartphone market in sales volumes and more than 80% in sales value, the report says.
