Weekly poll results: Samsung Galaxy Note8 feels the love

Weekly poll results: Samsung Galaxy Note8 feels the love

Nearly half the people that answered our poll are happy with the . The Note line is one of Samsungs big money makers but has struggled in the last two generations. Now it seems to be back on track. The Galaxy Note FE formerly the Note7 received weak support, about half of the votes that the Galaxy S8+ scored. And from past polls we know that the S Pen is a huge differentiator, but apparently the older hardware didnt excite the crowd. Not that there were no complaints about the Galaxy Note8 either. Most of those that complained grumbled about the price (a hefty $930/999). Then there are those who are not too happy about the new design sealed battery, curvy screen (which hinders screen protectors), the new extra wide screen too. Even so, the new stylus-packing flagship seems bound for a great first week of sales, which will be in mid-September.

LG V30 will probably cost $749.99

LG V30 will probably cost $749.99

the two days ago at IFA in Berlin, but the company has so far provided very few details about its in the US. Sure, we know that all the big carriers will offer it (and Sprint's even with more internal storage), but none of the networks have said anything about a release date other than in early fall. And no prices have been mentioned at all. Thankfully though, LG may have already revealed how much the V30 is going to cost stateside. Remember that Twitter contest that the company started yesterday, which sees it ? Well, like all such internet-based sweepstakes, it has to have terms and conditions listed. And one of the legally required terms is an approximate retail value of the prizes offered. In this case, each LG V30 is said to be worth $749.99. Since this is information that comes straight from LG (if indirectly) it's a pretty strong indication towards what the actual retail price of the smartphone will end up being. If this pans out, it means the V30 will be much cheaper than the , one of its main competitors, which has a full retail price of $930 in most places. | |
