And another one - the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Lite is official

And another one - the Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Lite is official

Just when we thought we were finally beginning to make sense of Asus' Zenfone 4 lineup, the company has come up with another Selfie, the Zenfone 4 Selfie Lite. This one comes in addition to two existing Zenfone 4 Selfies, the and the , and the top-of-the-line . Listed on Asus' Philippine website, the new Selfie Lite shares a lot with the ZB553KL, including the selfie bits a 13MP f/2.0 camera with an LED flash. The rear camera is another 13MP unit, though Asus stays mum on other specifics. There's a 5.5-inch display on the front, and the lack of resolution in the specs points to 720p. It becomes clear where the 'Lite' in the Zenfone 4 Selfie Lite's name comes from when you look at the chipset it's the Snapdragon 425 with a quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU. The two other plain Selfies feature the S430 (8x1.4GHz Cortex-A53), while the Selfie Pro is in a different league with its S625 (8x2.0GHz Cortex-A53). Next comes a downgrade in RAM just 2GB, and storage can be either 32GB or a lowly 16GB. Those changes aside, the Zenfone 4 Selfie Lite measures the same 155.7 x 75.9 x 7.9 mm as the other two non-Pros, and packs a 3000mAh battery inside. The phone boots Android Nougat (unspecified version) with Asus' ZenUI on top. The phone will be available in the Philippines sometime this month at a price between PHP7,995 and PHP8,995 ($156-$176). It's unclear whether this specific configuration will be available in other markets. |

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) officially dies on December 15

AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) officially dies on December 15

Ladies and gentlemen, brace yourselves. On December 15, AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) will be no more. Oath officially announced the sad news today. Oath, by the way, is the Verizon subsidiary that holds the combined operations of Yahoo and AOL. Anyway, this news is quite shocking. Mostly because it reveals the fact that at the moment AIM is still alive and kicking. That's unexpected to say the least. It's probably a good time for it to be put out of its misery, though. AIM started out as the built-in chat app inside America Online's desktop client. It took off (at least in the US) in 1997, when it became a separate standalone application. So it's lived until the nice age of 20, give or take. While Oath hasn't revealed if it plans to replace AIM with anything else, the most likely candidate for that role is Yahoo Messenger yes, this still exists too. |

The older S5 is at 4.6%. In , the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have a total of 12.6% while S8s combined share is under 5%. In both countries, the smaller S7 is the top individual device. In , the Galaxy S8+ has below 2% share while the S8 stands at 3.1%. The S8 phones proved popular in (8.6%), and (both 6.8%). In a surprising twist, the Galaxy J3 (2016) is the top Android in , though the S7 and S7 edge combined beat it 4.1% vs. 7.4%. The S8 duo isnt even in the Top 10. Same for and . Curious thing about Italy according to AppBrain, the top Android smartphone in the country is the Galaxy S III (4.2%), followed by the S7 edge (3.7%). What a generation gap! Venturing further east, holds on tightly to its Note5 units (7.8%) while the new Galaxy S8 phones have a combined 4.7% share. That is surprising since Samsungs home market is usually strong for the tech giant. Hit the Source link if you want to check other countries or devices. In many countries, many of the 10 most popular devices are Samsungs, but a Galaxy isnt always on top. For example, Huawei seems to have a strong presence in Europe.

Now we get a peek at the front as well thanks to a leaked official render of the device. The Motion doesnt actually move theres no slider here. No QWERTY keyboard either. In fact, this appears to be a keyboard-less version of the . Unfortunately, this includes the less-than-stellar Snapdragon 625 chipset (or a 626, same thing). The rumored specs also include 4GB of RAM for the chipset and a 4,000mAh battery (this phone will go all day and all night). The screen is said to have 1080p resolution and this time it doesnt have to leave room for a keyboard, so its bigger.

Best Buy already lets you save up to $100 when you purchase a Pixel 2, but there are some noteworthy caveats. First off, only the Pixel 2 is $100 off. The Pixel 2 XL is discounted too, but just by a mere $25. Next up, you need to know that these are Verizon Pixels we're talking about, and to take advantage of the price reduction you're going to have to pay for them using the carrier's installment plan. If you're okay with all of that, then your monthly installments for the Pixel 2 will be $22.91 (for the 64GB version) or $27.08 (for the 128GB model). Over the course of two years, you'll pay a grand total of $549.84 or $649.92, respectively in each case, a few cents over $100 less than normal. If you're interested in the Pixel 2 XL, the installments will be $34.36 per month (64GB) or $38.53 per month (128GB). In total that means either $824.64 or $924.72, depending on which model you pick. Just a hair over $25 in savings, as mentioned. You still get the free if you go this route. The Pixel 2 should ship by October 19, while the Pixel 2 XL doesn't even have a release date to speak of yet. So be prepared to play the waiting game. | |
